Welcome to lowest priced lagoon lot in the Maya beach region. This 110 ft. by 80 ft. lot is filled and ready to build and the location could not be better as it is adjacent to canal lots on the Placencia Residences, Belizeâs most upscale neighborhood where similar lots sold in the past for DOUBLE the price. Enjoy the seawall from the Residences which extends on to the reserve directly in front offering moorage for small to medium size watercraft. Enjoy sunsets over the lagoon and mountains and then simply walk across the main road to the public beach on the Caribbean.
The Placencia lagoon is 16 miles (30 km) of calm, brackish water and is ideal boaters. The lagoon is a natural estuary and one of the most active ecosystems in the tropics with hundreds of birds, fish and mammals thriving in its rich waters. Because of this dolphin and manatee sightings are common and it is as a great place to fish with large snapper, jack, grouper mackerels and more.  The lagoon is great for anything that involves calm waters from kayaking to sailing to an evening sunset cruise.
Lot 198 is located on the southern portion of the Plantation, the northern portion of the Placencia peninsula, where most of the current development is occurring. The new owner of this lot will have access to the Placencia Hotel a short walk north.
To the south of the Plantation we journey down the peninsula first to Maya Beach. This relaxed section of the peninsula is favoured by expats and features some of the best restaurants in the area. 10 minutes drive from Plantation we reach Maya Beach Bistro, a hot spot for gastronomic delights, famous for the best breakfast in Placencia, Tapas Happy Hour every afternoon and romantic beachfront dinners.
Maya Beach is also well known for having the only bowling alley in Belize! Also just 10 minutes away from Plantation, head down to Jaguar Lanes for fun nights of bowling, wings and Belikin beers, the national beer of Belize. Join the locals for weekly poker nights, sign up for the bowling league or just enjoy their big screen TVs which always have the latest game playing.
Further south, a leisurely 25 minutes drive from the Plantation, you will find yourself in the heart of the action, Placencia Village. A quaint village with all the excitement of one of Belizeâs major tourist destinations. Enjoy the famous Sidewalk, a beachside promenade lined with bars and restaurants offering. Here you will find Placencia institution, Barefoot Beach Bar where you can sit on the beach and sip on the best (and strongest!) margaritas and stuff yourself with their famous Lobster Grilled Cheese. Placencia Village is also where youâll depart from to go on any one of the many exciting tours on offer from some of the most knowledgeable tour guides in the country. Some of the best include taking an exciting boat ride up Monkey River into the heart of howler monkey territory, heading into the mangroves to go manatee watching, or taking a guided food tour around the village to taste local delicacies and if youâre up for it, braving a rum sampling session.
Letâs now take a journey off the peninsula! Heading up north we leave the peninsula and head inland. Only 20 minutes away we reach the famous Cockscomb Basin Forest Reserve. Nearly 100,000 acres of protected forest on the slopes of the Maya Mountains is yours to explore. This is the land of the elusive jaguar so keep your eyes peeled. The expertise of the local guides will help you spot his tracks and if youâre lucky, you may even spot him among the tropical rainforest. Here you can also take the opportunity to interact with Mayan community where theyâll guide you through traditional chocolate making techniques; youâll even get the opportunity to make and taste your own! Finish the day with a hearty Mayan meal before heading back to the Peninsula.
Now is a great time to invest in property in Belize! The real estate market continues to buzz with prices set to increase in the near future.
