We just finished what has been the most busy and fun 6 weeks I think I have ever had! We have had a large group of friends from Cleveland come to Placencia, one for a “babymoon”, one got engaged on our beach (see beach wedding below), another was going to get engaged here but the ring wasn’t ready (!!!), capped off by me having a visit with family in friends in Florida, only to return home and have the nearly newlyweds waiting for an awesome wedding week!
It was our first attempt at a beach wedding. I have to admit, it almost felt too easy to plan 🙂 Granted, there were only 4 of us :). Some of the highlights…..the rehearsal dinner at Turtle Inn, where for an extra $25us, they provide you with a private table on the sea, with tiki torches and your own server! It was incredible! Some pics of that…
We used Barbara from the Placencia Rotary for the officiant. She was incredible! We all felt that her words made the ceremony SO meaningful! We had another Rotarian, Donna, as our camera person, and a huge thanks once again to our Sue and Carlos :), stepping in and helping with last minute everything! And, little Sticks was the ring bearer, and he actually came down the aisle (ish) like he knew what he was doing!
Saying the vows with Barbara…
Some pretty shots throughout the ceremony….
HUGE thanks to Jeff and the staff at Tranquilo….they provided us with an AWESOME tasting menu a few nights before the ceremony…..then went all out with decorating an awesome table for us. Jeff did a few personal touches that were so incredible……he used to be a wedding planner and it shows! I HIGHLY recommend talking with him if you are here for your wedding! Pics from that part of the night….
The boat ride over, how fun in wedding gear!
One other thing that was so great was pulling the flowers right off the bushes! So easy 🙂
A couple other highlights that the bride and groom loved fro their week….they loved doing Xunantunich, the Inland Blue Hole, cave tubing at Cave’s Branch, and a very relaxing afternoon at Lost Reef Resort 🙂
There are so many options in Placencia for a wedding, some upscale and some more down to earth:) It was my first destination wedding to attend, as well as help set up and it was totally unforgettable!!!! 🙂 Now, the craziness is dying down……my poor dog slept for 15 hours yesterday….I wasn’t far behind! 🙂
