Description

The Mayacan beach property is over 1700 acres with a mile of beautiful sandy Caribbean beach front.  The property is located on the coast just two miles north of Riversdale, the northern tip of the Placencia peninsula.  The Placencia peninsula has experienced rapid growth  over the last few years with both residential and resort development claiming most of the available beach front parcels.

To the north of the Mayacan property is the soon to reopen Kanantik resort.  To the south is the south Stann Creek, providing an existing waterway for future development of canals and a marina.  The property spans several ecosystems, starting with the savannah/grasslands to the west that would be ideal for golf course development or equestrian areas.  From there you transition into pine forest, which would be well suited for larger home sites.  This area is high and dry and would require little or no filling prior to construction.  Next you move into dense jungle teaming with all types of flora and fauna with natural watercourses and small ponds and lakes throughout.  Then you are at the beach, and what a beautiful beach it is.  Situated in a bay with the Sittee river and Sittee point to the north, this stretch of beach is ideal for swimming.  All sandy bottom for as far out as you can walk.  Swaying palm trees complete this ideal Caribbean beach front setting.

Large parcels such as Mayacan, with as much beach frontage, are getting to be hard to find, particularly in such close proximity to the Placencia peninsula.  This property is located only six miles off of the paved southern highway on a well maintained dirt road.  There are endless development opportunities with this parcel.

Hopkins village is located just a few miles to the north and Placencia to the south, both of which are big tourist draws.  Small boutique resort or large scale hotel are possibilities.

The original owners of the Mayacan property already have an approved subdivision map for most of the beach front area as well as back lots with a view of the sea.  These are divided into home site lots as well as hotel sites and park sites so a new developer can hit the ground running with lot sales and resort development.  The rest is a blank slate limited only by your imagination
