Snorkeling in Belize

Snorkeling in Belize

Named one of the seven underwater wonders of the world and most amazing place on the planet by Discovery Channel, the Belize barrier reef is one of the world’s premier diving destinations. Snorkeling in Belize is a dream of many world class divers and coral aficionados.  There are many places to dive and snorkel all along Belize’s territory and include the cayes, the atolls, various spots on the reef and the mainland.

Visitors also come to Belize to have close encounters with one of nature’s most gentle and awe-inspiring creatures: the whale shark. Call your accomodation company if you’re planning to visit Belize to book a snorkeling or diving tour. There’s tours for all types of underwater aficionados, and if you’re feeling more adventurous, make sure to visit the Shark Ray Alley and snorkel with both sharks and stingrays!

Water visibility generally reaches 100+ feet. The water temperature stays close to 27 °C (81 °F) all year long and the barrier reef makes for calm water almost year round, which makes Belize a great place to have your first snorkeling experience.
